Cloudy Day Tai Chi is a short form consisting of 14 postures. The form is symetrical in that all postures are practiced on the left and right side of the body. The new student should practice the form at a tempo that is comfortable. Too fast and the subtle body alignments are not kept. If practiced too slow, the postures become disjointed or choppy.
The breathing should not be a concern to the new student. It should be natural and through the nose. Later when performing the postures with ease, the breathing can be harmonized with movement; inhaling while the postures expand and exhaling during contraction. This process can be reversed.

Professor Cheng Said,
“...There are three basic faults you must eliminate before you begin to practice taichi on your own....The first fault is the lack of perseverance....The second fault is greed. Do not bite off more than you can chew....The third fault is impatience.” -Professor Cheng Man Ching
